Duration: 4 days, 3 nights
Day 1:
05.30 am. Leave Phetchaburi town and head to Kaeng Krachan National Park headquarters. See introductory exhibition on the history and natural diversity of one of Thailand’s most pristine wild areas. Head to Phanoen Thung camp for a short break and make preparations to enter a very special area that is home to a wealth of animal and bird life.
09.00 am. Proceed to our trekking starting-point just past Phanoen Thung camp, looking out over the expansive vista of the Tanaosri mountain range. Begin an easy, mainly downward, 6 km trail through the forest, passing the animal saltlick (30 Pong). Trek along the Huai (Stream) Mae Saliang, (sometimes veering off into small hill ascents and descents). Set up camp on the edge of the water, near the source of the stream.
Day 2:
After breakfast trek along the Huai (Stream) Mae Saliang. Continue to a beautiful streamside forest camp to swim, relax, have dinner, and set up our hammocks.
Day 3:
After breakfast continue trekking along the stream. We are now entering a plains area frequented by animals such as the Asian Elephant, Gaur, Deer, Asian Tapir, Eurasian Wild Pig, and many more. Set up camp again near the stream.
Day 4:
After breakfast, we ascend a hill for about 600 meters to reach Ban Krang campsite. Head for dinner at sunset at the edge of Kaeng Krachan Dam.

• Balm, insect repellent; personal medication; torch; cut toe nails short
