Trekking 3 Days 2 Nights

Kaeng Krachan: Thailand’s Largest National Park

Trek to: Source area of the Pranburi River

Duration: 3 days, 2 nights

Day 1:

08.30 am. Leave Phetchaburi town and head to Kaeng Krachan National Park headquarters. See introductory exhibition on the history and natural diversity of one of Thailand’s most pristine wild areas. Head to Ban Krang camp for a short break and preparations
13.00 pm.  Head to our trekking starting-point just past Phanoen Thung camp, looking out over the vast vista of the Tanausri mountain range. Start on an easy, winding, mainly downward, 4 km trail through the forest. Set up camp on the Phetchaburi River near its source.

Day 2 :
After breakfast continue trekking along the river, (sometimes veering off into small hill-climbs), passing the Korea Brook alongside the Nga-Ngan peak (1500 meters above sea level).  Break at Orchid Cliff, home to many wild orchid species. Continue to the even more beautiful Sugar Palm Forest Camp to swim, relax, have dinner, and set up our tents and hammocks by the riverside.

Day 3 :
After breakfast continue trekking along the river, passing the former Kasetsart University (KU) camp and arriving at a deep pool at the base of the 9-level Tor Tip waterfall. Here we swim, take lunch, and relax, before heading upwards and back towards our base and car at Phanoen Thung. We arrive back at Petchaburi town at about 20.00 pm.
